After the long 14 km hike, we decided to take the next day, Friday, off. So we slept until 9 AM, ate a leisurely breakfast of fruit bread, yogurt, cereal, butter, jam, coffee, and orange juice.

After that, we washed some laundry in our dorm sink and while we let it dry, we were just lazy. I got to take some quiet time outside listening to worship music, while admiring the beautiful surroundings and dad got to take a nap.

While spending time with God and reflecting on our trip, I was struck by how He had been protecting us the whole time.  Down steep slopes, across slippery snow drifts, up rocky passes, and through long distances in the rain, He has never left us.  It reminded me of a song and it may be the theme of the first half of the Haute Route:

We resupplied with some food and also saw some friends from the trail.  We saw Kevin and Damien from Cabane de Prafleuri and we also saw the Japanese group we had taken a picture with.

Instead of spending a lot of money for dinner, we decided to make our own and not our dormitory room.  We fired up our little stove and we made spaghetti.  Overall it was a great day, and we needed it.
